Senior Network Operations Center Manager (Tax free & based in GCC)

Position Overview:

The Network Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations that support the monitoring and event handling of the the company and Skywave products. This position is responsible for incident resolution and return-to-service objectives in a 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) environment. The Network Operations Manager will be responsible for improving system experiences through remote monitoring, maintenance and problem identification and resolution activities, as well as growing and developing the organization’s perception with existing customers through exceptional customer service. Lastly, the Network Operations Manager will review and assess program requirements to make sure the NOC Team can fulfill them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on implementation of monitoring of all the of Skyfly product and 
company’s digital/network assets.
• Responsible for Network Operations/Network Operations Escalations on a 24×7 basis to include all major and critical inquires (outages) and all incoming customer issues.
• Tracks the overall performance of the Network Operations Center to ensure company customer satisfaction
• Provide a high level of technical expertise to ensure the development of network technologies that aid in the achievement of organizational goals
• Provides support to other members of the Tier III level support group for any network issues that arise and facilitate training of less experienced personnel
• Identify necessary technical training to ensure the group is adequately skilled to support the environment
• Responsible for the overall scheduling and support plan for the NOC. Ensure adequate manpower for 24X7 operations and on-call for specific expertise
• Assigns workloads and sets priorities for Team member within the group
• Responsible for delivering performance appraisals for each subordinate.
• Provides guidance and clear direction for departmental as well as companywide goals to all subordinates
• Ensures all departmental operations are conducted in accordance with 
company, and Regulatory requirements
• Responsible for ensuring Ground System Incident and Problem Management reporting
• Production and Test environments platform monitoring for alarms and performance issues on systems, applications, database and network connectivity
• Assists in knowledgebase management
• Works effectively with internal/external technical resources and customer-facing organizations to resolve incidents quickly and efficiently
• Follows prescribed processes for Incident, Change and Problem management
• On- call for all major issues
• Mentors NOC Engineers and provides cross training for departmental team members
• Completes other projects as assigned by Senior Leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus.
• Six years of relevant experience in Information Technology
• Thorough knowledge of enterprise network technology
• Understanding of management theory and organizational practices
• Advanced knowledge of data flow, mainframe/client server systems, problem
analysis/resolution, and system tuning; experienced with network interfaces and technologies
• Able to operate with sensitivity, confidentiality and discretion
• Five (5) Years’ Experience of Windows and Linux Server Monitoring and Administration in an Enterprise Environment
• Five (5) Years’ Experience in monitoring a 24X7 environment
• Five (5) Years’ Experience in systems monitoring and long term trending of SLA, performance and sizing metrics
• Experience Monitoring Network Infrastructures
• Experience developing, documenting and maintaining installation and configuration procedures
• Should have scripting experience and exposure to automation of largescale cloud deployments
• Must be available to participate in on-call rotation
• Must speak, read and write English fluently

 

Additional Assets:
• Familiarity with ITIL standards, Number Portability, Telecommunications is a plus.
