Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operation of SAMI Aerospace. This role involves managing a team of engineer, technicians and production staff to ensure that manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective and produce high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies and plans to meet Aerospace division goals and objectives
- Manage the production schedule to ensure timely delivery of products to customers
- Oversee the design and development of new products and processes
- Ensure that manufacturing processes are safe and compliant with all relevant regulations and standards
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and procurement, to ensure that all necessary resources are available to support manufacturing operations
- Maintain and improve quality control processes to ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure that manufacturing operations are cost-effective and efficient
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Leadership: Director needs to be an effective leader who can motivate and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and production staff
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and operations, including lean manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain management
- Technical knowledge in engineering, aerospace materials, and aerospace systems
- Communication skills: able to communicate clearly and effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Problem-solving: able to identify and solve problems quickly and efficiently, often under tight deadlines
- Strategic thinking: able to develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity
- Project management: able to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, often involving tight schedules and budgets
- Regulatory compliance: should have a thorough understanding of industry regulations and standards, and ensure that manufacturing processes are compliant with these requirements
- Continuous improvement: should be committed to continuous improvement, always looking for ways to optimize processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field
Preferred Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent
- 10+ years’ experience in related role
