(Defense)PO/ Transportation Management System (TMS) – Group Global Supply Chain – (TAX FREE expat role)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented PO/Transportation Management System (TMS) Specialist to join our Group Global Supply Chain team within the defense industry. You will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and compliant purchase order (PO) processing and transportation management through our TMS. This role requires a strong understanding of both procurement processes and TMS functionalities, with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase orders (POs) accurately and efficiently within the established timelines, ensuring adherence to company policies and contractual terms.
  • Manage PO amendments and revisions, communicating changes effectively with suppliers.
  • Utilize the TMS to create and manage freight shipments, selecting optimal carriers and routing based on cost, speed, and security requirements specific to the defense industry.
  • Track shipment progress within the TMS, monitoring for delays and potential issues.
  • Manage and resolve transportation discrepancies, ensuring timely delivery of goods according to PO specifications.
  • Generate reports on PO and transportation activities, providing valuable insights for supply chain optimization.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of POs, freight documents, and shipment data within the TMS.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, logistics, finance) to ensure smooth PO and transportation execution.
  • Stay up-to-date on defense industry regulations and compliance requirements impacting POs and transportation.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree a plus).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in purchase order processing and/or transportation management.
  • Proven experience working with a Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of international trade incoterms (e.g., Incoterms 2020) is a plus.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in POs and transportation logistics.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with relevant TMS software.
  • Compliance & Regulations: Understanding of defense industry regulations and their application to POs and transportation.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage workload efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Can readily adapt to changing procedures and learn new technologies within the TMS.
