Electronics Scientist (Defence) Radar, Systems (TAX FREE, Expat)

Position Overview:

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Electronics provides specialized knowledge and expertise in electronic systems and components used in defense applications. This role involves advising the supply chain team on the technical requirement of materials, sourcing support, contract negotiation in technical terms, planning requirement and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The SME collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and enhance the performance and reliability of defense electronic systems. 

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise: 

  • Provide deep technical knowledge and guidance on electronic systems, including radar, communication, navigation, and control systems. 
  • Advise on the selection, integration, and optimization of electronic components and subsystems. 

Research and Development: 

  • Support research initiatives to develop advanced electronic technologies for defense applications. 
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation in electronic systems. 

Compliance and Standards: 

  • Ensure electronic systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as MIL-STD, ITAR, and EAR. 
  • Advise on best practices for maintaining compliance throughout the product lifecycle. 

Project Management: 

  • Support project teams by providing technical expertise and ensuring project milestones and deliverables are met. 
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports. 

Training and Mentoring: 

  • Provide training and mentorship to engineers and technical staff on electronic systems and technologies. 
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations and workshops. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, software engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of electronic systems. 
  • Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electronics engineering within the defense industry. 
  • Deep knowledge of electronic systems used in defense applications, including radar, communication, and control systems. 
  • Experience with electronic design tools and simulation software. 
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as MIL-STD, ITAR, and EAR. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide leadership and mentorship.
