Tax free NOC Architect /Project Manager (SATCOM)

Job Summary:

The NOC Architect will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing a state-of-the-art Network Operations Center (NOC) for a satellite communications company. This role focuses on the architecture and development of the NOC infrastructure, ensuring it meets the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and security. The NOC Architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and oversee the integration of various systems and technologies. aims to support the country’s aspirations in space technology through strategic acquisitions, partnerships, and cutting-edge technological localization.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture and Design:

Lead the architectural design and development of the NOC infrastructure for satellite communications.

Create detailed design documents, system specifications, and architectural diagrams.

Ensure the NOC architecture supports 24/7 monitoring, incident response, and system recovery.

System Integration:

Oversee the integration of network monitoring tools, such as SolarWinds, AppDynamics, and Splunk.

Design and implement interfaces for seamless integration between different network components and tools.

Ensure compatibility and interoperability of all NOC systems and applications.

Technical Leadership:

Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering and IT teams.

Define technical standards, best practices, and guidelines for NOC operations.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Security and Compliance:

Design security protocols to protect network infrastructure and data.

Ensure the NOC architecture complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Implement robust access controls and monitoring to detect and respond to security incidents.

Scalability and Performance:

Design the NOC infrastructure to scale efficiently with the growth of network traffic and complexity.

Optimize the performance of NOC systems to ensure high availability and minimal latency.

Implement automation and orchestration solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Project Management:

Lead projects related to NOC architecture and implementation, from concept through execution.

Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring adherence to schedules and cost constraints.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.

Documentation and Training:

Develop comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, operational procedures, and user guides.

Conduct training sessions for NOC staff to ensure they are proficient with the new architecture and tools.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base and repository of technical documentation.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in network architecture and design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven experience in designing and implementing NOC infrastructure for telecom or satellite communications companies.

Technical Skills:

Deep understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, MPLS, WAN, and LAN technologies.

Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Splunk).

Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation and orchestration.

Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA).

Soft Skills:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, ITIL V4, and Project Management Professional (PMP).

Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and standards.
